Feed My People

We at Unity Church of Peace are very active in contributing to our friends at Feed My People. They are dependent on the kindness of their neighbors to supply the food they distribute to folks that are less fortunate.

Twice a year, our church participates in a school supply drive for children in our surrounding communities that are in need. Anything that you can donate is always greatly appreciated, and means a lot to the children! The items needed usually include:

“Operation Write Home” is a group of crafters from across America, and beyond, who make handmade cards for deployed heroes so that they can keep in touch with their loved ones at home. These heroes serve all branches of the military in all deployed locations, including those stationed aboard ships, and the handcrafted cards of gratitude help to encourage them.     
The project began in 2007 with just a few cards sent by friends on a message board.  Eventually, www.CardsForHeroes.org started, and in September, 2009, the organization became Operation Write Home, in order to better focus on what we're all about: helping heroes keep in touch with home!
Unity Church of Peace has card crafting days to help support Operation Write Home.  All supplies and shipping costs are donated, and this is an activity open to all members of the community who wish to help our heroes.
