Feed My People

We at Unity Church of Peace are very active in contributing to our friends at Feed My People. They are dependent on the kindness of their neighbors to supply the food they distribute to folks that are less fortunate.

AA Meetings

There is an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting every Wednesday at 7:00 pm in Fellowship Hall.

Twice a year, our church participates in a school supply drive for children in our surrounding communities that are in need. Anything that you can donate is always greatly appreciated, and means a lot to the children! The items needed usually include:

Pens- black, blue, and red

Pencil Boxes
Crayons

Washable markers, thick and thin

Scissors
Notebooks

Colored pencils
Binders

Pencil sharpeners
Folders

Sticky notes
Lined paper

Dry erase markers
Construction paper

Backpacks

Every year our church also participates in the Welcome Backpack Program, which helps to provide some basic needed items to men and women after they are released from prison.  We collect both the backpacks and the supplies.  The items needed usually include:

toothbrush/ toothpaste
new socks
packets of tissue
new men's underwear
deodorant, shampoo, lotion, soap

a "Welcome Back" card

single serving, non-perishable snacks
towel/ washcloth
Unity Church of Peace is happy to be able to send books to our Unity friends in Africa several times per year.  The books are sent to Rev. Amos Kalu, at a Unity center in Nigeria, and then forwarded on to wherever they are most needed.   We feel blessed by this opportunity to further the grow of the Unity Movement in Africa.
We are also happy to share our tithes on occasion with new or struggling Unity churches and centers here in the United States.  We know and affirm that there is always enough of this abundant kingdom to go around!
Adopt-A-Highway

Unity Church of Peace has adopted a half mile stretch of highway right down the street from the church, at Bayless and I-55.

Once a quarter, our team is helps to keep our community litter-free, and gets some good exercise, while having fun with our church friends. If you are interested in joining our Adopt-A-Highway team, please contact the church office. Children above the age of 10 are welcome to join, if accompanied by an adult.

New Food Pantry

We now have a food pantry as a source of outreach for our U.C.O.P. church family. If you can, please bring non-perishable food items to the kitchen, where they will be put in the pantry.  If you need something from the pantry, please feel free to take whatever you need.  Any items that are not taken in a timing fashion will be donated to local food pantries. Thank you!
